As the political persecution of our communities has intensified throughout this last year, it has been heartening to see the outpouring of support for our mixed-status families. Massive protests, people organizing ICE watch patrols, mutual aid efforts to provide food, funds, and other resources for families in need, and much more. But something that is often overlooked during these kinds of crises is the mental health support that parents & children need to help them process the stress, the fear, and the anxiety that arise.

In this session, Leslie Priscilla discusses the impact that this added stress can have on our families & their ability to be present with each other. We examine the collective impact that a crisis like this can have on a community & the individual impacts it can have on our children & their development. We will also share ways that we can work collaboratively to provide trauma-informed support for our families during these times.
